Roadmap

We have big plans. Become part of them.

Now

The space segment of the SovereignSky program will be developed and deployed in five Phases.

2022-2023. Phase Five. Balloon launch of 8 eco-friendly, low carbon emissions blockchain-enabled satellites

SovereignSky: the solar-powered, green blockchain satellite constellation

Now that successful blockchain testing has been completed RUON and the SovereignSky satellite constellation plans to aquire 8 eco-satellities pre-installed with the space-based blockchain. The size of these satellites will be increased to accommodate additional battery power, satellite crosslink communication radios and antennas, an advanced computer processor, solar panels and a small propulsion system. The satellites will be similar in size and functionality to SpaceQuest's previously launched "THEA and "BRIO" CubeSats but modified with advanced blockchain capabilities tested here on Earth. The 8 satellites will be launched either via traditional rocket propulsion or using the most environmentally friendly balloon launch from "Zero 2 Infinity" (https://www.zero2infinity.space). Each eco-friendly satellite will be solar-powered and contain a small propulsion device to maintain its orbital position with respect to the other satellites. SovereignSky's overall goal is to provide the most energy efficient, lowest carbon emissions space-based blockchain.

September, 2020. Phase Five. SovereignSky Solar Connectivity Boxes

SovereignSky: A Space Charity

In parallel with the satellite, research is the development and testing of a portable satellite modem that communicates with a smart android phone which can relay the transaction information to the blockchain nodes in space. The ground segment will shrink from a small, fixed, centrally-located antenna node to a hand-held satellite modem about the size of a smartphone, similar to the one shown in Whitepaper. Once the smartphone application and compact modem are tested and certified, SovereignSky clients and people-in-need will be able to execute a blockchain transaction via the satellite network from any place in the equatorial belt. The RUON app, pre-installed on the SovereignSky handsets, will connect to the small portable, satellite modems via Bluetooth or wi-fi. The modems then connect to the satellite. The only requirement is that the satellite modems have clear access to the sky. The modems can be shared by multiple users who are in the general vicinity and have the appropriate login credentials. SovereignSky is on its way to being the first company in the world to be able to send financial aid anywhere in the World without wi-fi connectivity or even power in its bid to help people in extreme poverty.

February, 2020. Phase Four. Patents, Research & Development for Financial Banking Systems in Space

Patents, Research & Development for Financial Banking Systems in Space

Phase Four expands the R&D and planning for an equatorial satellite constellation with a polar to polar orbit to provide global continuous satellite connectivity to all regions in the equatorial belt as shown in our Whitepaper. This R&D and satellite configuration will ensure complete continuous satellite coverage to the poorest people in the world who will benefit the most from secure blockchain transactions. The Phase Four eco-friendly satellites will contain crosslink communication radios that will allow them to share all transaction information with neighboring satellites. These cube satellites will process and store the transaction data. At least three 'Master Antenna Nodes' will be deployed in non-jurisdictional locations to command, control and maintain the satellites in orbit. An archival copy of all satellite Blockchain transactions will be stored at these locations to ensure that no client data is ever compromised or lost.

July, 2019. Phase Three. An Equatorial Orbit to help the 3rd World.

Equatorial Orbit via the most eco-friendly balloon technology with "Zero 2 Infinity"

SovereignSky & SpaceQuest start the development and testing of ground and international water nodes and space-based blockchain technologies with integrated 3U CubeSats.

In 2022, SovereignSky aims to launch 8 green CubeSats into an Equatorial Orbit via the most eco-friendly balloon technology "Zero 2 Infinity" (https://www.zero2infinity.space). Each green, solar-powered, satellite will circle the Earth’s equator every 100 minutes. As a result, all of the regions highlighted on the map (shown in our whitepaper) will have access to a SovereignSky satellite signal for 10 minutes every 30 minutes. The red circled areas show the ground coverage of each satellite as it travels over the Equator from west to east.

The aim is to install 'Ground Segment Antenna Nodes' deployed in Central Africa which will provide reliable and secure direct access to the SovereignSky satellites. Initial operations will be carried out using local Antenna Nodes that comprise a satellite antenna, software-defined radio modem, a power amplifier, and a computer server. D2C SovereignSky customers and People in Need will be able to log into their RUON app and digital wallet, via the portable modem, and conduct a financial or business transaction using the smartphone provided in the charity aid "solar connectivity boxes". The transaction data will be sent to the SovereignSky satellites as they pass over the Antenna Nodes, and relayed to the other ground Antenna Nodes. Please see Stan Larimer Steemit's articles. These Antenna Nodes can be deployed in other locations in South America and Southeast Asia to extend network coverage to villages, orphanages, People in Need or business clients in other nations who have passed KYC/AML.

March, 2019. Phase Two. SovereignSky blockchain development begins in Virginia at BEOS

SovereignSky blockchain development begins in Virginia at BEOS and SpaceQuest headquarters; by stripping down BEOS into a lightweight chain designed for operating in Space and powered entirely by solar energy. Phase Two was to upload part of this green blockchain to one of SpaceQuest’s orbiting satellites called AprizeSat-5 to validate blockchain transactions in space. The first successful blockchain transaction in space by a western company happened on December 13th, 2020 by SpaceQuest & SovereignSky. Throughout 2019/20 ongoing development begins to implement the necessary ground station antennas and software to be able to send and process transactions in space. These critical testing steps will ensure that the deployment of a constellation of 8 eco-friendly blockchain satellites, planned for 2022, will be successful.

Nov, 2018. Phase One. SovereignSky and SpaceQuest Partnership.

SpaceQuest and SpaceX Launch "THEA" Satellite.

SovereignSky partner SpaceQuest launch "THEA" onboard SpaceX, Falcon 9. After successful launch and operation by SpaceQuest, SovereignSky is now working towards acquiring 8 similar sized eco-satellites like "THEA' to house and power its space-based blockchain called "Sovereign". SpaceQuest confirm the technical approach, testing power consumption, computer processing requirement, and communication parameters of satellites similar to "THEA" that will power Sovereign's eco-friendly 8 satellite constellation. These 8 satellites will be similar to "THEA" and run and process the BEOS ground blockchain configured for an operational space-based blockchain node.
